An Investigation into Campus Safety

Ms. Andreasa Morris, Mr. Eldon Marks, Mr. Jamal Inniss
Campus Security is a pressing issue facing every university in the world. Campuses are thought of as safe haven for the young minds that are the leaders of tomorrow. But with recent threats facing campuses, other than examinations and tests, students and lecturers now have to wonder if they will be a victim of poor campus security. This research is trying to solve the problems facing swift response and transmission of locational information in emergency situations on campuses using smartphones. By using comparative and qualitative analysis, it was derived that this research provided a better method of calling for help and sending locational information, than the existing solutions, through using stealth from gesture-based interactions as its base.
